The World Kite Cup : a prestigious international team competition. For the second time, Berck-sur-Mer, a family seaside resort on the Côte d’Opale known worldwide as the capital of kiting, the Holy Grail of kite fliers, will host a “World Cup” of the discipline.
The 10 countries represented (France, Spain, Italy, Great Britain, Germany, Canada, China, Taiwan (China), Colombia and the Netherlands) will offer a true aerial ballet through choreographies flown to music. There is no doubt that their dexterity and feats will enchant the hundreds of thousands of spectators expected. The 81 competitors entered in the various events of the “World Kite Cup” (2-line and 4-line individuals / 2-line and 4-line pairs / 2-line or 4-line teams) will have to win over an international jury of 6 judges: 3 scoring the technical side — control of the kite, quality and precision of flight — and 3 others assessing the choreography, that is, the emotions conveyed to the spectators.
